DESCRIPTION:This is the annual RoCs weekend meets to the delights of the Pe
 ak District National Park. We will be camping at the usual site near Hathe
 rsage at the North Lees (Peak District National Park) camp site. This is a
 bout 1 mile due North of Hathersage. This meet is suitable for all members
  as it is ideal for beginners and the more experienced climbers in the clu
 b. If you have never climbed outside on real rock\, we can take you up som
 e really easy nice rock. There is a wide choice of gritstone crags to choo
 se from\, some with a few multi pitch routes\, but mainly all single pitch
  with a short walk in.\nThe campsite is a small friendly site with wash an
 d shower facilities. It also has some wooden Pods if you prefer not to use
  a tent. All you will need for a Pod is a sleeping mat and bag plus your o
 wn cooking gear\, just as you would for a tent. There is heating and light
 ing in the Pods. If you wish to use a Pod\, please book this in advance yo
 urself. A deposit may be required for a booking. Please indicate to me if 
 you are camping or in a Pod. Booking in advance is required for camping so
  you will need to do this yourselves\, in groups up to 5 per pitch with a 
 car. If you decide to come with someone who has already booked their pitch
  with a car\, you can add yourself by booking a pitch without a car. \n \n

 . To get to the campsite from Hathersage\, go west on the A6187 Main Stree
 t and TR before the railway bridge up Jaggers Lane\, then TR up Coggers La
 ne for about 1/2 mile\, then TR into Birley Lane. After about 1/2 mile Nor
 th Lees site is on your left just before a left hand bend. There is a wood
 en gate (often closed) to enter the site. We will be car sharing as much a
 s possible due to the limited parking spaces and to save fuel costs.\n\nHa
 thersage has a couple of pubs\, and we will use the Robin Hood pub in Hath
 ersage. There are also food shops and a few Outdoor gear shops so all you 
 need for a weekend away with RoCs.  If you prefer the luxury of a proper b
 ed ???? then there are B&B’s\, hotels and Youth Hostels in and around Hath
 ersage\, but book early to ensure a room. Be aware if you choose to book a
 ccommodation and we have to cancel the meet at the last moment due to extr
 eme bad weather\, you may lose your deposit.\nBring along some wet weather

    This is th
 e annual RoCs weekend meets to the delights of the Peak District National 
 Park. We will be camping at the usual site near Ha
 thersage at the North Lees (Peak District National Park) camp site. This is 
 about 1 mile due North of Hathersage. This meet is suitable for all members as it is ideal for begin
 ners and the more experienced climbers in the club. If you have never clim
 bed outside on real rock\, we can take you up some really easy nice rock. 
 There is a wide choice of gritstone crags to choose from\, some with a few
  multi pitch routes\, but mainly all single pitch with a short walk in.
    \n
    The campsite is a small friendly 
 site with wash and shower facilities. It also has some wooden Pods if you 
 prefer not to use a tent. All you will need for a Pod is a sleeping mat an
 d bag plus your own cooking gear\, just as you would for a tent. There is heating and lighting in the Pods. If you wish to u
 se a Pod\, please book this in advance yourself. A deposit may be required
  for a booking. Please indicate to me if you are camping or in a Pod. Book
 ing in advance is required for camping so you will need to do this yoursel
 ves\, in groups up to 5 per pitch with a car. If you decide to come with s
 omeone who has already booked their pitch with a car\, you can add yoursel
 f by booking a pitch without a car.

 mpsite from Hathersage\, g
 o west on the A6187 Main Street and TR before the 
 railway bridge up Jaggers 
 Lane\, then TR up Coggers 
 Lane for about 1/2 mile\, then TR into Birley Lane. After about 1/2 mile Nor
 th Lees site is on your left just before a left hand
  bend. There is a wooden gate (often closed) to enter the site. We 
 will be car sharing as much as possible due to the limited parking spaces 
 and to save fuel costs.

    Hathersage
  has a couple of pubs\, and we will use the Robin 
 Hood pub in Hathersage. There are also food shops and a few Outdoor gear s
 hops so all you need for a weekend away with RoCs.  If you prefer the luxury of a proper bed ???? <
 /a>then there are B&B’s\, hotels 
 and Youth Hostels in and around Hathersage<
 span class='s2'>\, but book early to ensure a room. Be aware if you choose
  to book accommodation and we have to cancel the meet at the last moment d
 ue to extreme bad weather\, you may lose your deposit.

 trousers and walking boots) just in case the weather turns damp and we dec
 ide to go for a bit of a bog trot up on the hills. You will also need to b

  in the evenings.

 y grades…rock quality and protection are good’. Just over an hour away is 
 Dow Crag\, one of the classic Lakes big cliffs\; the FRCC guidebook says: 
 ‘first class climbing…right across the grading spectrum…a superb setting’.
  There are also lots of other crags within a short drive. We stayed here i
 n 2022 and had a great time!\n\nWe’ll be sharing the chores in the hut. I’

 – the rock’s warm\, the beer’s cold and the pool has had eight months to w
 arm up. If you fancy a week sport climbing in a T shirt in October\, this 
 is the trip for you! El Chorro has dozens of crags with thousands of route
 s and RoCs has a copy of the Rockfax guidebook. We’ll explore several area
 s\, probably including some long (40m+) and multi-pitch routes. For more i

 ime!\n\nMore details:\n\nGetting there – Ryanair fly from Bournemouth and 
 some of us have already booked for 15-22 October\; we’ve done this route a
  few times and it’s been very efficient.\n\nCar hire – I usually book cars
  from Malagacar\, which I’ve used several times. It’s off-airport (just)\,
  the cars are a bit older than the big companies but I’ve found it to be a
  reliable company.\n\nAccommodation – I’ve rented a house for the twelve m
 embers who’ve already signed up. Hannah has generously volunteered her exc
 ellent culinary skills again to cater for us in style on most evenings (we
 ’ll eat out on at least one)\, but everyone is expected to help out with c
 hores. The house is full\, but some people may not be able to make it so s
 ign up below and I’ll add you to the reserve list. And there are plenty of
  other accommodation options if more want to meet up to climb.\n\nMoney – 
 we’ll have a kitty to pay for all the above\, including evening meals. The
  total cost will probably be £450-500 (including your flights) plus climbi
 ng-specific insurance – BMC cover recommended at about £50 for the week.\n

 r fly from Bournemouth and some of us have already booked for 15-22 Octobe

  hire – I usually book cars from Malagacar\, which I’ve used several times
 . It’s off-airport (just)\, the cars are a bit older than the big companie
 s but I’ve found it to be a reliable company.\n\nAccommodation – I’ve rent
 ed a house for the twelve members who’ve already signed up. Hannah has gen
 erously volunteered her excellent culinary skills again to cater for us in
  style on most evenings (we’ll eat out on at least one)\, but everyone is 
 expected to help out with chores. The house is full\, but some people may 
 not be able to make it so sign up below and I’ll add you to the reserve li
 st. And there are plenty of other accommodation options if more want to me
 et up to climb.\n\nMoney – we’ll have a kitty to pay for all the above\, i
 ncluding evening meals. The total cost will probably be £450-500 (includin
 g your flights) plus climbing-specific insurance – BMC cover recommended a

 orth Lees campsite. This is about 1 mile due North of Hathersage. This mee
 t is suitable for all members as it is ideal for beginners and the more ex
 perienced climbers in the club. If you have never climbed outside on real 
 rock\, we can take you up some really easy nice rock. There is a wide choi
 ce of gritstone crags to choose from\, some with a few multi pitch routes\
 , but mainly all single pitch with a short walk in.\n\n\n\n\n\nThe wash fa
 cilities have had a massive upgrade so now the campsite is very posh. Ther
 e are Pods as well as tent pitches available and a couple of camper van sl
 ots as well. I will be camping so will book a slot for me and anyone who t
 ravels up with me. Book your slot on the North Lees website stating if you
  have a car or just need a tent slot. If you wish to use a Pod\, please bo
 ok this in advance yourself. A deposit may be required for a booking. Plea

 cliffs\; the FRCC guidebook says: ‘first class climbing…right across the g
 rading spectrum…a superb setting’. There are also lots of other crags near
 by. Because it’s such a quiet area most of the routes see little traffic a
 nd can be a bit green\, so you can feel a bit like an explorer.\n\nWe’ll b
 e sharing the chores in the hut. I’ve booked six bunks\; if it looks like 
 there are going to be more of us\, I’ll see what I can arrange with the hu

DESCRIPTION:This Annual trip to the snow clad mountains of North Wales (hop
 efully) will allow any RoCs member to experience some easy winter-ish moun
 taineering challenges without having to travel up to Scotland. The trip is
  a bit later than usual to allow the use of the hut in Capel Curig.\nWe ha
 ve now booked the Barn hut at Capel Curig from Thursday 6th March to Sunda
 y 9th March. If you wish to go on a winter hut based meet please say yes s
 o I can add you to the list. The cost is £10 per person per night. There a
 re bunks in several rooms so all you need to take is a sleeping bag & pill
 ow plus all your personal gear\, and any food & drink for breakfast & lunc
 h. We can eat in the pub and/or cook in the hut\, to be decided nearer the
  time. Can each person bring up a small bag of wood for the stove as it ma
 y be a bit chilly.\nBring with you suitable winter warm and waterproof clo
 thing\, a decent pair of mountaineering boots\, (crampons and a walking ax
 e are optional in case we get that rare thing called snow). Quite often th
 e snow does not settle (or even arrive) so then it can be a bit wet and wi
 ld. Be prepared and bring waterproof trousers and jacket and a set of dry 
 clothes for walking and to walk to the pub in the evening.\nPatrick and I 
 will go up Thursday morning and return Sunday afternoon. We may well decid
 e to camp nearby\, if it is not too bad weather wise. Travel plans will be

      This Annual trip t
 o the snow clad mountains of North Wales (hopefully) will allow any RoCs m
 ember to experience some easy winter-ish mountaineering challenges without
  having to travel up to Scotland. The trip is a bit later than usual to al
 low the use of the hut in Capel Curig.
      \n
      We have now booked the Barn hut
  at Capel Curig from Thursday 6th March to Sunday 9th March. If you wish t
 o go on a winter hut based meet please say yes so I can add you to the lis
 t. The cost is £10 per person per night. There are bunks in several rooms 
 so all you need to take is a sleeping bag & pillow plus all your personal 
 gear\, and any food & drink for breakfast & lunch. We can eat in the pub a
 nd/or cook in the hut\, to be decided nearer the time. Can each person bri
 ng up a small bag of wood for the stove as it may be a bit chilly.<
 /p>\n
      Bri
 ng with you suitable winter warm and waterproof clothing\, a decent pair o
 f mountaineering boots\, (crampons and a walking axe are optional in case 
 we get that rare thing called snow). Quite often the snow does not settle 
 (or even arrive) so then it can be a bit wet and wild. Be prepared and bri
 ng waterproof trousers and jacket and a set of dry clothes for walking and
  to walk to the pub in the evening.

      Patrick and I will go up Thursday 
 morning and return Sunday afternoon. We may well decide to camp nearby\, i
 f it is not too bad weather wise. Travel plans will be confirmed nearer th

 hersage. This meet is suitable for all members as it is ideal for beginner
 s and the more experienced climbers in the club. If you have never climbed
  outside on real rock\, we can take you up some really easy nice rock. The
 re is a wide choice of gritstone crags to choose from\, some with a few mu
 lti pitch routes\, but mainly all single pitch with a short walk in.\n\n\n
 \n\n\nThe wash facilities have had a massive upgrade so now the campsite i
 s very posh. There are Pods as well as tent pitches available and a couple
  of camper van slots as well. I will be camping so will book a slot for me
  and anyone who travels up with me. Book your slot on the North Lees websi
 te stating if you have a car or just need a tent slot. If you wish to use 
 a Pod\, please book this in advance yourself. A deposit may be required fo

  Robin Hood pub in Hathersage. There are also food shops and a few Outdoor
  gear shops so all you need for a weekend away with RoCs.\n\nBring along s

 nd walking boots) just in case the weather turns damp and we decide to go

 e and is our most posh of campsites. We go every year and are always welco
 med by the team there. You can choose to camp in quality conditions\, or u
 se a variety of Pods\, from basic to posh. The facilities are excellent wi
 th good shower\, toilets and washing up\, clothes washing and drying\, as 
 well as an on-site shop\, bar\, lounge and eating facilities. The owners a

 London Mountaineering Club. It sleeps 30 in three bunkrooms and we’ve got

 es see little traffic and can be a bit green\, so you can feel a bit like

DESCRIPTION:This is our second trip this year to the Peak District at Hathe
 rsage\, based at North Lees campsite. This is about 1 mile due North of Ha
 thersage. This meet is suitable for all members as it is ideal for beginne
 rs and the more experienced climbers in the club. If you have never climbe
 d outside on real rock\, we can take you up some really easy nice rock. Th
 ere is a wide choice of gritstone crags to choose from\, some with a few m
 ulti pitch routes\, but mainly all single pitch with a short walk in.\n\n
 \n\n\n\nThe wash facilities have had a massive upgrade so now the campsite
  is very posh. There are Pods as well as tent pitches available and a coup
 le of camper van slots as well. I will be camping so will book a slot for 
 me and anyone who travels up with me. Book your slot on the North Lees web
 site stating if you have a car or just need a tent slot. If you wish to us
 e a Pod\, please book this in advance yourself. A deposit may be required 
 for a booking. Please indicate to me if you are camping or in a Pod. At th
 e moment booking in advance is required for camping so you will need to do
  this yourselves\, in groups up to 5 per pitch with a car. If you decide t
 o come with someone who has already booked their pitch with a car\, you ca

 st before a left hand bend. There is a wooden gate to enter the site. We w
 ill be car sharing as much as possible due to the limited parking spaces a
 nd to save fuel costs. Hathersage has a couple of pubs\, and we will use t
 he Robin Hood pub in Hathersage. There are also food shops and a few Outdo
 or gear shops so all you need for a weekend away with RoCs.\n\nBring along
  some wet weather walking gear as well\, (water proof coat\, over trousers
  and walking boots) just in case the weather turns damp and we decide to g
 o for a bit of a bog trot up on the hills. You will also need to bring alo
 ng breakfast and any cooking gear required\, food for mid-day lunch as the
 re are no food facilities at the crags. We will be eating at a pub in the

  dozens of crags with thousands of routes and RoCs has a copy of the Rockf
 ax guidebook. We’ll explore several areas\, probably including some long (
