I was planning to go down on Friday. If anyone is able to get down early then we could get in a days climbing as well. I would not mind a visit to Subluminal or Cattle Troughs at some stage if anyone is interested.

I plan to get to Toms Field about 6:30 -7:00 Friday, so should be there for a few beers in the Square and Compass, ready to wobble back for a clear head-bury climb on Saturday.

Hi David,
A climbing helmet, belay device, (and maybe a sling and an extra Karibinner or two or a couple of snap links, to make yourself safe if required.) These last items are not essential, but good to have for future trips outside. I can bring some exra climbing helmets along if you do not have one yet. Also required, good sense of twisted humour and room for some good food and Beer.

Hope everyone had a good time. I certainly enjoyed climbing in my faviurite place with so many RoCs friends, and having such a laugh in the pub in the evenings. Thursday and Friday certainly pushed me to the limit with Patrick at Laurencefield Quarry and Burbage North. That was why I left my guide book at both crags on 2 seperate days, and we had to return to each one in the evening for it! Either that or senility is kicking in?? Stanage was challenging in the cold, and Froggatt was as usual, really good fun and a great way to end the week end, despite the "extra" walk in (about an extra mile according to our trusted guide Patrick). Only marred for me when I tripped/slid and fell heavily with a full sac of climbing gear and smashed my arm on a rock when walking/scrambling out from the crag. Nothing broken but loads of blood and a bruise later. Thanks to Jenny for stopping my fall and helping with first aid (hope I did not hurt you) and to Patrick for assistance in applying large amounts of plasters and taking a picture of my injury bleeding everywhere for the record!! (probably to be seen on my Facebook page soon).

Looking forward to Swanage in June. Pete
